As we begin our eleventh season of cutting-edge theatre, The Ensemble is going to keep pushing the boundaries. What else would you expect from us? (Probably drones, robots, and alien insects right? You guessed it!)
In preparation for the world premiere of Sprawl this coming January, The Ensemble is kicking off a fundraising effort – and we would LOVE for you to be a part of it. Sprawl will be the first production in our new home at 12th Avenue Arts. It’s a dark comedy that is part Mars Attacks, part Serial Mom, and all big and wild design elements (flying alien insects, battle robots, and crystals that sprout from the ground). To make these design dreams a reality, we’re spending a week in November in a warehouse space experimenting with giant puppets, remote control robots, and motion capture video projection technology.
We are raising $3,210 to pay for the work space, buy robots and small drones, and pay artists for their time. We’re fundraising through power2give/PugetSound, a regional arts crowd funding platform presented by ArtsFund. Your dollars will go twice as far through the support of ArtsFund, who provide 1:1 corporate matching for every donation made on the site.
It’s super easy to contribute: Just click here and select the “Giving Cart” then “Donate Now” button to make a tax deductible, secure donation. There are some great donor benefits (including having your name listed in the program and getting on the list for our Sprawl opening night party), and your support at any level will make a huge difference in bringing this playwright’s vision to life for our audiences. Help us continue to bring incredible theatre to Seattle! Every dollar counts.
