Meet the Cast (AKA the Hackers and Memes) of Teh Internet Is Serious Business

ARJUN PANDE last appeared with WET in Revolt. She said. Revolt again., and over the past two years has performed with the Seattle Shakespeare Company (Pericles, Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors), Book-It Repertory Theater (Treasure Island, Emma), and ACTLab (Guards at the Taj). He holds a BA in Theater from Brown University.
IAN BOND is so thankful to work with WET again. He was last seen/heard in The Things Are Against Us as a murderous house and its various manifestations. He has performed locally with Seattle Shakespeare, Book-it Repertory, Taproot Theatre, Seattle Public Theatre, Forward Flux, and Village Theater.
JEFFREY AZEVEDO is a Seattle-based theatre artist and Washington Ensemble Theatre’s Managing Director. He was seen most recently in Washington Ensemble Theatre’s productions of Cherdonna’s Doll’s House and The Things Are Against Us and will be performing in this season’s Teh Internet is Serious Business.  Other recent work includes Awaiting Oblivion—Temporary Solutions for Surviving the Dystopian Future We Find Ourselves Within At Present which recently received it’s world premiere at On The Boards.  Jeffrey holds degrees in Make Believe and Electricity from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and since moving to Seattle he’s spent most of his time using his electrical/science skills to manifest public presentations of his friend Tim Smith-Stewart’s existential crisis.
  JESSIE UNDERHILL is delighted to return to WET after previously performing in BedSnake and Sprawl. She has also appeared with Strawberry Theater Workshop, Seattle Shakespeare, Northwest New Works Festival (Pony World), and other generative works.
  NICK EDWARDS is an actor of scripted and improvised work, writer, and director. Most recent projects were writing TRUMP the KING (Theater Schmeater) and for WET’s Six Pack Series: Eat Me; performing in WET’s Every Five Minutes, directing Trespass (Jet City Improv/Seattle Public Theatre); improvising with Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas (Jet City), Summerfest (Seattle Opera); and performing scripted work with 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival (Leicester, Wolverhampton) and Professor Dash (Cafe Nordo, U/S).
 

SAMIE DETZER is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, and Artistic Director of Washington Ensemble Theatre. She was most recently seen in WET’s Cherdonna’s Doll’s House, Revolt. She said. Revolt again., The Things Are Against Us, The Hunchback of Seville (Footlight Award​​), in Rikki Tikki Tavi at Seattle Children’s Theatre and in Wayne Rawley’s award-winning Live! From the Last Night of My Life. She has worked as an actor at Seattle Shakespeare Company, Book-It Rep,Taproot, The Solo Performance Festival, The Chicago Improv Festival, and 14/48. Samie is the co-creator of SIX PACK SERIES, and is the Literary and Executive Manager at ACT Theatre.

 

JORDAN-MICHAEL WHIDBEY, is completely pumped to jump onto the WET stage at 12th Avenue Arts for the first time. You may have last seen him in Money & Run (also directed by Wayne Rowley) or in the first weekend of 14/48 and Nordo’s Thunderdome. He was in the purple suit.

 
KEVIN KELLY is thrilled to get lost in Teh Internet with Wayne and WET and unveil this show! Favorite roles have included Run in Money & Run (Theater Shmeater), Hal in Proof (Strawshop), and Dromio in The Comedy of Errors (Seattle Shakespeare). Thanks to this beautiful team and Anna, always 😉
   LISA VIERTEL makes her WET debut. Recent shows include Please Open Your Mouth (Cafe Nordo), Money and Run (Theater Schmeater), Vanya Sonya Masha and Spike (Harlequin Productions), many rounds of 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival (Mazen Award Winner) and Dogg’s Hamlet/Cahoot’s Macbeth (Sound Theatre Co).
  MEGAN AHIERS has appeared in productions at LiveGirls!, Balagan, Athena Theater Project, Paradise Theater School, Annex, Mt. Baker Theater, West of Lenin, Macha Monkey, Theater Schmeater, Sandbox Radio Live, Theater22 and Pony World Theater. She is a member of the Sandbox Artists Collective and is Operations Director for The 14/48 Projects.
   

RYAN SANDERS is thrilled to make his WET debut. Favorite stage credits include Unbalancing Act’s Recent Tragic Events, Book-It’s Border Songs, BASH and Radial Theater’s Beating up Bachman, Rock Paper Theater’s The Raft and After All, KTO’s Love Song, plus many shows with the sketch comedy troupe, Ubiquitous They.

 

  STANLEY DANG is excited to be performing for Washington Ensemble Theatre. Recently he has worked as Noah/Rocky in Over and Under (Annex Theatre) and Buster/Timmy in Money and Run (Theater Schmeater). He would like to thank all those involved with the project and you all for coming.
   

RACHEL GUYER-MAFUNE is stoked to be working with WET for the first time! Past credits include: Pilgrims (Forward Flux), The Winter’s Tale (Seattle Shakespeare Company), El-Deafo (Book-It Repertory Theatre’s Arts and Education Program), Puny Humans (Annex), and The Lost Girls (Annex). Catch her in Book-It Repertory Theater’s upcoming production of Howls Moving Castle, running December 2nd to the 30th.

 

   

ZENAIDA SMITH has been seen onstage in Wayne’s Rawley’s 2017 remount of Money & Run (Theater Schmeater), The Lost Girls, Puny Humans (Annex Theatre), Little Bee (Book-It Rep), and Twelfth Night (Bainbridge Performing Arts). See her on screen in the local web series Northern Belles and the upcoming short film Fool (2017).
