queer joy is an immersive experience built around actual quotes and ideas from members of the LGBTQIA* community in Seattle. What does queer joy feel like, sound like, smell like? Explore this art gallery and experiential art installation to deep dive into the exploration of love, crushes, excitement, community, connectedness; examine the big bold brashness of queerness, and the subtleness that is being a queer person day in and day out.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION
For this experience, we’ve split Slip Gallery in two halves: on one side you can wander through our FREE gallery, full of works by over 30 queer artists sharing their depictions of joy.
The other side features a ticketed series of 7 installations and interactive exhibits, where you can immerse yourself on a deeper level.
Join us throughout the month for a wide range of both free and ticketed events, where we’ll celebrate queer joy in all it’s expressions!

Be the first to indulge your senses in queer joy! Join us on our opening day to experience the gallery and installations, meet some of the artists, and enjoy some complimentary snacks with us!
Belltown Art Walk | Friday June 13 6-9pm
Description: Kick off a month of queer joy like a pro! Attending the Belltown Art Walk is a great way to support the local art scene. You’ll connect with local artists, meet fellow art-lovers, and support small businesses along the way. Start your evening by joining us for drinks, snacks, and vibes in the gallery, and then check out the Belltown Art Map to see where the night could take you!

Shadow Girls Cult Presents Queer Joy Puppet Slam | Saturday June 14 8-10:15 pm
Join us for an evening filled with equal parts queerness and puppet mayhem! In association with Washington Ensemble Theatre, Shadow Girls Cult presents Queer Joy Puppet Slam; an eclectic lineup of puppeteers celebrating all things queer. This quirky puppet variety show offers imagination, stunning visual artistry, and enough queer joy and puppet angst to fill a theatre!

Queer Joy Creates | Sunday June 15 12-4pm
A celebration of queer art and ideas
Come create with us! This outdoor, all-ages event on Bell Street invites you to do some hands-on crafting workshops with featured artists from the queer joy gallery experience. Stick around for beats by a local DJ, pop-up performances by local nightlife artists, and bites.

This week on Raging Pussy Galaxy, catch all your favorite femme lovers as they attempt to find love in a starship far far away. Watch as they face challenges no other species has all while trying to keep on kissing. An all femme RPG with all love and all laser guns! Will they rage against the machine or will the machine rage them?

Ever thought to yourself, “Wow, gays only kind of have musical theatre songs about their suffering?” Well, this time, we’re turning it around on the straights. Come watch a night of cabar-gay, where all gay singers will sing songs all where straight people are the ones in pain. Get ready for a night of malicious laughter in all the best ways. Let’s point and laugh at the straights and all the weird pain they put themselves through.

Seattle’s longest-running all-trans & non-binary drag variety show takes the Queer Joy stage for a night of gender euphoria, community, and show-stopping performances. Featuring Arlo Moon, Elle BP, Velveteen and your host and T4T queen herself, Bee’Uh BombChelle.
